The Wedding!!!

Well first of i have now learned that being a missionary and making a wedding cake is probably the most stress full things i have ever done in my life! It is so hard to fulfill your missionary purpose and make a cake but I did it!!!!!!

The Wedding was wonderful i was so grateful i was able to be part of the wonderful time in Larry and Kelly's lives! It really was a day i will most definitely remember from my mission!!!

So awesome news!!!! One of our investigators Jacob should be getting Baptized soon!!!! He is only 9 years old and his mom finally gave permission!!! So that is freaking awesome!! I am so excited!!!!! He is such a wonderful little boy and man he is so ready to be baptized! So we are seeing him this week and we will be giving him a baptism date! So I will let you all know when that is next week!

So other then that nothing much has happened. We are just teaching alot of people and still trying to find new people to teach. We did some awesome service yesterday and helped complete strangers move. We basically had the whole Elders quorm their helping and the family kept wanting to pay us and we let them know we do this because love to serve others. They were the sweetest family! I really feel Heavenly Father is defenatly preparing them to receive the restored gospel into there lives.

So this morning as I was reading my scriptures, I came cross so really great scriptures that i just really wanted to share it is D&C 24:8, " Be patient in afflictions, for thou shalt have many; but endure them, for, lo, I am with thee, even unto the end of thy days." I just love this scripture because as I look back on my life i realize i was never alone during my hardest trials. Christ was always there. The Atonement is truly amazing!!! It is the one thing that can bring the purest of happiness and help us so much when we are in need of the help. Goodness I just love the Gospel!!!

Thank you all so much for all your thoughts and prayers!

#NewYorkIsCrazy

So big thing going on is that the wonderful city of Watertown has a out break of Bed Bugs. So Sister Tesch and I get to be extra Ninja like in making ensure we don't get bed bugs. The work in Watertown will keep on going even if the city is covered in Bed Bugs as long as we don't have them we are good :)

We had a bit of a heat wave this week which was a blessing in disguise because i really was getting tired of putting on 3 or 4 layers on tights. It is suppose to get really really cold again this week so we will see what happens because the weather here has some hard core mood swings.

So this week our goal as a companionship is to find some new investigators. We still have a lot but some of them aren't progressing as much as we wish they would be. We sadly don't have anyone with a baptismal date right now... since it has been so cold all investigators have been sick and we haven't been able to see them and like i said near the being of this paragraph they aren't progressing as much as they could be right now. We are still super busy sometimes i wish we had 30 hours in a day so then we can have that extra 6 to see more people. We have been able to fine some Less Actives that haven't been in contact with missionaries for a long time and that was great!

So I have come to love Sundays while being on my mission.... Like really with out Sundays I think I would have found myself in a loony ben by now. I look forward to every Sunday knowing that it will help me so much to make it though the week. Oh how I cherish the opportunity to partake for the sacrament every Sunday. This as I listening to on of the speakers a phrase from the scriptures kept going though my head, "Spiritually Minded is Life Eternal" so as i was sitting next to one of our recent converts (Victoria) I went on a scripture chase to fine that scripture and i found it , 2 Nephi 9:39; " O, my beloved brethren, remember the awfulness in transgressing against that Holy God, and also the awfulness of yielding to the enticing of the cunning one. Remember, to be carnally-minded is death, and to be spiritually- minded is life eternal." As I was pondering this scripture for a time i noticed something so unique it spelt SMILE- Spiritually- Minded- Is- Life- Eternal. Then it all hit me like a ton of bricks, the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ will make one smile as we have the knowledge that the gospel is restored though the prophet Joseph Smith and that our Savior Jesus Christ lives today and forever. I want to invite you all to watch is amazing video that the church as just recently made and then take some time and see how the Gospel has made you happy. http://www.mormonchannel.org/watch/collection/gods-plan/we-can-find-happiness I know that as you watch the video and ponder how the Gospel has brought happiness in your life you will be able to feel the spirit and be able to gain that confirming witness that the Gospel of Jesus Chrsit is true.

I love you all and thank you for all your love and support :)
So i forgot a huge part of our week... sister tesch and i found a huge flood in the church on Tuesday!!! there was about 3 inches of water down the hall ... Early that day we found a broken pipe in a Recent converts home... We were super heros finding broken pipes and finding floods and saving souls!!!!

AHH!!!! -25 degrees!!!!

This week as been so much fun!!! Sister Tesch and I had some good time to get to know each other this week. Since it has been so cold our mission president has asked us not to leave our house unless we  have a set appointment. There is a really high chance of us getting frost bite so we have to be really really careful right now. But when we do travel we look like ninjas because we can only let our eyes show so then our face doesn't freeze. Its really fun having to get ready it takes like 30 minutes just to put on our winter clothes! but it is so much fun!!!

So this week we had one of the best Zone Training Meetings I have ever had on my mission! It was all about the power of the spirit and on faith.  I really learned so much about really on the Holy Ghost when teaching and how to teach by the needs of the people we are teaching. One thing our mission president had challenged us to do was to ask ourselves what would the Lord what me to say before we speak. All i can say is wow that has changed my teaching so much in just a few days. I love learning about how to follow the spirit, one thing that really stuck our to me was when President Roger said when teaching you not only have to trust yourself in knowing what to say but you have to trust the Lord and the Spirit with a full purpose of heart to be able to bring souls unto Christ. In Preach My Gospel chapter 4 it says, " You will succeed in your work (or as i put it Life) as you learn to receive and follow personal revelation." That is so true because as we receive personal revelation we can do Gods will and be able to fulfill all that Heavenly Father has in store for us as we are disciples of Jesus Christ.  One of my favorite scriptures about favorite is also very similar to James 1:5 it is 2 Nephi 4:35 " yea, I know that God will gice liberally to him that asketh. Yea, my God will give me, if I ask not amiss; therefore I will lift up my voice unto thee; yea, I will cry unto thee, my God, the rock of my righteousness. Behold, my voice shall forever ascend up unto thee, my rock and my everlasting God. Amen" I love this because though our personal revelation and though following the spirit we can be able to receive our answers to prayer ans we call upon God.

Any ways our investigators are doing great with this nasty cold weather it has been hard to see them but we are still in daily contact with them and that is the important part. The work is great! there really is nothing better then being able to serve the Lord with all your heart might mind and strength! Their are so many people here ready and prepared to here the message of the restored gospel. It is just sad because there really isn't enough time in our day to see and find them all.

I know that this Gospel is true and that as we pray and ask Heavenly Father with a full purpose of heart we will be know for ourselves the truthfulness of the Gospel!

I love you all and I am so grateful for all the love and support!!! Stay true to the Faith and I can promise you as a representative of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior that though your diligent in learning and studying his gospel that he will bless you.

Hey!!!! #lovewatertown

Well it has been a wonderful couple of days with Sister Tesch!!! We have had so much fun! I feel so blessed having her a companion! After so much prayer, Heavenly Father, he has blessed me with my best friend! Sister Tesch is just like Lettie!!!!

The work is going great!!! We are still teaching so many people and sometimes i wish we could have more then one day off. Because man i really need like a 12 hour nap!!!!

The big highlight of my week is that I have been given permission to make our recent convert Larry's wedding cake!!!!! I get to do something I know and Love !!! Honestly I have been pray to be able to decorate a cake and when president told me i could, I was like a fat kid eating chocolate cake!!!

Being a missionary really is such a blessing!!! Like seriously I have never found so much happiness! and being able to make others happy through the gospel is amazing!!!!!

The biggest thing for right now is we are happily teaching so  many people! Sister Tesch is a amazing teacher!!!! Our investigator Bethaney, is doing wonderful! We went and saw her on Thursday and that was awesome! We talked about faith and the important of acting upon our faith everyday! We invited her to pray and she said the most beautiful prayer i have ever heard! Then we saw Larry early this week and that was awesome! We were going over the Restoration and that was pretty neat! He basically taught us and bore a wonderful testimony of how he knew Joseph Smith was a prophet! The Spirit was strong!!!!

So recently I was reading in the Book of Mormon in the book of Mosiah. Goodness i love the book of Mosiah there is so much to learn!!!! in Mosiah 26:24 it reads, " For behold, in my name they are called, and if they know me they shall come forth, and shall have a place eternally at my right hand." I truly love that scripture simply because it explains that as we take upon the name of our savior we will be able to see him again and dwell with him in the eterities and that is amazing!

Transfer Call Staying in Watertown

Well things are going great! we got Transfer calls and well Sister Walker is going to Norwood and I am staying here in Watertown being joined by Sister Tesch. So that will be fun! It has been a fun transfer! With lots of memeries! I am going ti miss Sister Walker but I know there is still work for me to do here in Watertown.

So there is not alot going on. We are still teaching alot of people and there is just not enough time in the day to see them all. I am excited to take over Watertown there is still alot of work to be done.

I wish i had more to say ...... oh wait i do!!! On Thursday the 28th we had a ZTM and we never made it to Utica only because Elder Dickinson got us stuck in the snow!!! We were stuck in the snow for almost 5 hours. It was a long day and we never got to make it into Utica. So yeah its pretty lame but it was still alot of fun!!!!! Dave the tow truck man was so nice and was super funny. He bought us lunch was great and i made a bunch of new friends at the dinner we are at. But the good news our car got out safer with no scratches what so ever so that is a bonus!!!

Also I spoke in church once again. I really have a knack for speaking in the ward were i am serving. But it was great!!! The spirit was so strong!!!!! I am so grateful that i was able to speak in church. I spoke about the Spirit in Galatians 5: 22-23, 25 they read; " But the fruits of the Spirit is Love, joy peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance; against such there is no law. If we live in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit. That scripture describes the voice of the spirit.

I am so grateful to be on a mission. Thank you so much for all your love an support!!!
